Eagles Inline has been unmerciously skating for the past 2 months while the rest of the organization has been enjoying their time off from hockey. At this point in the season, the team is in third place, but they are 1 point behind second and 2 points behind first, with half a season left. The Eagles are currently 7-1-1, and to put things into perspective, last year at this point they were 4-5.

Leading the Eagle's Inline team this season is Coach Adam "Boston" Sacchetti, 47, who is making his debut coaching for the Eagles. The Eagle's currently hold 1st place in goal's for with a total of 79 goals! Top scorers for the Eagles are Brandyn Shelly, 23, then Brock Gowie, 94, and then newcomer Brian Purcell, 54. Also, the Eagles are first place in goals against with only 28 goals let in, the closet team is 7 goals away. Goalies making an appearance this season are Camilo Rios, 0, Gabe Bjorkman, 69, Justin Bunton, 32, and in his first game of the season, Nick Mclean, 31, had a shutout of 11-0 to the Blue Devils III. It was an amazing game for Mclean considering he played without a blocker for the first 2 periods and had to borrow Defenseman, Trevor Girard's, 17, glove until the Viking's goalie was nice enough to let him borrow his for the third period.

Here is the recap of how the team has done thus far:

Bob's Snipers – 9-2 Win

Scorpions 1 – 5-2 Lost

Longhorns 2 – 10-3 Win

ERV K-Town – 10-3 Win

Vikings – 6-5 Overtime, shootout lost

Blue Devils 3 – 11-0 Win

Scorpions 2 – 12-4 Win

Snipers – 13-2 Win

Scorpions 1 – 7-3 Win

Picture this with me, it's the 1980 Olympics and the USA is about to play Russia and at their last meeting, Russia won. This is how the inline team felt this previous Saturday as they took on the Scorpions I. The Scorpions moved down this season from Division 1 and as you saw above, the Scorpions beat the boys 5-2, at their last encounter. Coach Sacchetti kept telling the boys all week that he wanted a victory, and a victory is what he received.

Less than a minute into the game, Purcell passed to Gowie, who gave a quick pass back to Purcell who was able to get close to the goal and show the Eagle's dominance, to place them on the scoreboard first.

Jean-Pierre Spadaffor, 78, managed to make his way down the rink and tricked the goalie into thinking he would shoot. At the last possible second, he passed to the left where Shelly was waiting to put the puck into the top left corner.

With less than 20 seconds left in the first period, Gowie managed to surprise the goalie with a quick goal he was unprepared for. This ended the first period with the Eagle's ahead 3-0.

The second period was a tough one for the Eagles, as well as an intense one. The Scorpions managed to get 2 goals in during the second period. This ended the period with a score of 3-2, which lead the third period to a period of excitement.

One minute into the third period, Spadaffor passed to Purcell who tricked the goalie into scoring, widening the gap.

The Scorpions gave it one last chance to come back and win, however goalie Bunton made sure that this was the final goal they managed to get in.

This game was also a sad one for the Eagles as they had to say Good-Bye to a fellow Eagle that is a teammate, friend, and a top scorer for the team, Brock Gowie. What is a legendary way to go out in Eagle style? Well ask Brock, as he made sure to clearly define that this past Saturday. Brock scored the last 3 goals of the game to leave the Eagles in style. The Eagles, ice teams, and inline team will miss you very much!!

This ended the game with a final score of 7-3.

The Eagle's Inline still has a little less than half a season left and we are looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish with the remaining games of the season.
