26th Armed Forces Alpine Classic (Garmisch) Tournament

The best tournament of the year is almost here...the 26th Annual Armed Forces Alpine Classic. This tournament host around 18 military teams from across Europe, as we all come together to celebrate friendships and play some hockey!

When: The tournament will be held Thursday, February 15th until Saturday, February 17th. The tournament starts early (0700) on Thursday morning, so coming down on Wednesday, February 14th is recommended. 

Where: The tournament takes place in Garmisch Germany at the home of the 1936 Olympics.

Set-Up: The tournament has 2 division; a competitive division (Div. 1) and a fun division (Div. 2). We will be sending our Eagles 1 team to play in the competitive division. We will be sending 2 teams to play in the fun division. How will you figure out who will play on what 2 teams for the fun division? Well glad you asked. The coaches for Eagles 2 and Eagles 3 will come together and split those who are signed up into two teams that are equally matched. In order to do this, you MUST sign up by January 20th. After January 20th, the event will be closed.

Cost: The tournament will cost 60 euros or $65 per player. Tournament fees must be paid by January 20th. Air Force, please see PTDY below for earlier deadline. Please make sure to include a memo that the money is for the AFAC or Garmisch Tournament.

Air Force PTDY: Like previous years, we will try to get a PTDY form. In order to do this, we will need a little more time, so if you would like to be included you will need to pay the tournament fee by January 5th. Also, you will need to send an email to kmceagles@gmail.com with the following information:

Rank, First name, Middle initial, and Last name, Unit, Office Symbol, Base

Example: 

SSgt Brandyn R. Shelly, 86 VRS/LGRVM, Ramstein Air Base, Germany

You will not be included in the paperwork if you do not pay or send the above information.

Lodging: It is up to the players to come up with their own lodging. We have reserved 25 rooms for the tournament at Edelweiss. The rooms will be booked on a first come, first serve basis. In order to reserve, call or email Edelweiss at:
