DOB: Sunday, October 14th, 1979I think just being able to play hockey here in Europe is a huge highlight. With all of the travel and tournaments we can do, its been one big highlight I will mention when I move back stateside!
As far as a childhood highlight, around the time I was just getting into hockey there was a new roller rink being built not far from where we lived. My dad asked the owner to start hockey there before it was even finished, but he didn't want to. After several times of asking, he finally agreed to have hockey as long as my dad ran the league on Tuesday nights. During that year it started with 14 kids and went to over 400 kids. Needless to say, roller hockey started getting pretty big in the area and Sports Illustrated came down to do a story about it. They took pictures of all of us kids playing street hockey on my street and a few months later I was in a pretty big magazine. Being that I was a 12 year old boy when this happened, there hasn't been much else to top it lol.
Hobbies:I'm going to have to go with one of our Inline games from 2013. This isn't a happy memory, but one that still haunts me. An opponent and I went to the corner chasing the puck, and he fell right before we got to the wall with me landing pretty much on top of him. I heard him scream right away, and as I rolled off of him he rolled onto his back with his leg in the air. All I see is his rollerblade just flopping around right in front of my face. This however isn't what has stuck with me for so long. It was the sound of the screams coming from this guy! It was something I have only heard in horror movies and has now become the biggest memory from anything I have ever seen/heard in hockey. And of course...I got the "Hit man" award for that at the end of season party.
