Coming off of a stunning third place finish at the 22nd annual Alpine Classic in Garmisch the Eagles 1 showed up in full force for their second game in the best of three DPL quarterfinals. After beating Ludwigshafen in the first game of the series 8-5, the Eagles dominated the ice stunning Ludwigshafen with a score of 12-1. Anthony Aceto was set up perfectly by Tim Duffy and Shane Saum for the first goal of the game giving the Eagles the early lead. The Eagles ended the first period with three goals which they would double by the end of the second. Ludwigshafen's only goal of the game came with three minutes left in the second period. Instead of slowing the Eagles play it only fueled their drive towards total domination. Ludwigshafen never stood a chance with the Eagles scoring a stunning 6 goals in the third period with Shane Saum scoring 3 back to back goals to end the game with a hat trick. Jake Howell also had a hat trick scoring in each period including one goal with spectacular unassisted breakaway while the Eagles were down a player during the Ludwigshafen power play.

The Eagles head to the semifinals next with another best of three series with the game time still to be determined.
